Mental Health (Parents)
While having children brings much joy to people’s lives, it can also be a stressful experience. When your child has type 1 diabetes it may be even more stressful because you have to help them manage their diabetes. It is okay to feel sad, stressed, and anxious at times. If these feelings continue for two weeks or more, you might want to think about talking to a doctor or other professional about how you are feeling. Having someone to talk to about your feelings and to provide social support can also be helpful for parents.
